BYLAWS
OF THE NORTHFIELD VOLLEYBALL CLUB
April 7, 2003

ARTICLE I
Name

     The name of this organization shall be the Northfield Volleyball Club.

ARTICLE II
Mission

     The mission of this organization shall be to promote the sport of volleyball to all Northfield and area youth and to provide interested youth with the opportunity to develop their volleyball skills.

ARTICLE III
Members

     The membership of this organization shall consist of coaches, team representatives, and players who during the practice and competitive season are a part of one of the organization’s teams; coaches, team representatives, and players who after the completion of the most immediate practice and competitive season and before the beginning of the next such season were a part of one of the organization’s teams; and volunteers whose membership application has been accepted by the organization.

ARTICLE IV
Officers

    Section 1.  The officers of the organization shall be the Director, Secretary, Treasurer, Coach Coordinator, Equipment and Uniforms Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator, Schedule Coordinator, and Team Representative Coordinator.  These officers shall perform the duties prescribed by these bylaws and by the parliamentary authority adopted by the organization.
Section 2.  The nomination of all officers shall take place at the first Executive Board meeting of April.
    Section 3.  All officers shall be elected at the second Executive Board meeting of April to serve for one year or until their successors are elected, and their term shall begin at the close of the meeting at which they are elected.
    Section 4.  No member shall hold more than two offices at a time, and no member shall be eligible to serve more than two consecutive terms in the same office.
     Section 5.  The duties of the officers of this corporation shall be as defined below:
          Section 5.1.  The Director shall preside at all Executive Board meetings, shall oversee the long-term goals and purposes of the organization, and shall perform such other duties as may be determined by the Executive Board.
          Section 5.2.  The Secretary shall keep the minutes of Executive Board meetings, shall register the organization’s teams with requisite external groups, shall maintain team files, and shall perform such other duties as may be determined by the Executive Board.
          Section 5.3.  The Treasurer shall have charge of the organization’s treasury, receiving and keeping the monies of the organization and disbursing funds as authorized, and shall perform such other duties as may be determined by the Executive Board.
          Section 5.4.  The Coach Coordinator shall recruit one or more coaches for each team, shall coordinate communication between the Executive Board and these coaches, and shall perform such other duties as may be determined by the Executive Board.
          Section 5.5.  The Equipment and Uniforms Coordinator shall be in charge of all aspects of the organization’s equipment and uniforms and shall perform such other duties as may be determined by the Executive Board.
          Section 5.6.  The Fundraising Coordinator shall be in charge of all aspects of the organization’s fundraising efforts and shall perform such other duties as may be determined by the Executive Board.
          Section 5.7.  The Schedule Coordinator shall be in charge of all aspects of practice, play day, and tournament scheduling and shall perform such other duties as may be determined by the Executive Board.
          Section 5.8.  The Team Representative Coordinator shall recruit an adult representative for each team, shall coordinate communication between the Executive Board and these adult representatives, and shall perform such other duties as may be determined by the Executive Board.

ARTICLE V
The Executive Board

    Section 1.  The officers of the organization shall constitute the Executive Board.
    Section 2.  The Executive Board shall have general supervision of the affairs of the organization between its regular meetings and shall perform such other duties as are specified in these bylaws.  The Executive Board shall be subject to the orders of the organization, and none of its acts shall conflict with action taken by the organization.
    Section 3. Executive Board meetings shall be held twice a month in August, September, October, November, January, February, March, and April; they shall be held once a month in December, May, June, and July.
    Section 4.  The second Executive Board meeting of April shall be for the purpose of electing officers and for any other business that may arise.
    Section 5.  Special Executive Board meetings may be called by the Director.
    Section 6.  A simple majority of the officers of the organization shall constitute a quorum at Executive Board meetings.

ARTICLE VII
Parliamentary Authority

    The rules contained in the current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised shall govern the Club in all cases to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with these bylaws and any special rules of order the Club may adopt.

ARTICLE VIII
Amendment of Bylaws

    These bylaws may be amended at any Executive Board meeting of the organization by a two-thirds vote, provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing at the previous Executive Board meeting.
